In about 2004 Sally de Visser asked her Grannie, Margaret J. Mylne, to write down some of her memories of life in “the old days”. They started by working together, but the majority of this book is in Margaret’s own words, transcribed from her handwriting, and edited to integrate memories written at different times into a cohesive story. The original edition of this book was distributed at Margaret’s funeral in 2015, and Sally wrote at the end of the book “I hope that you have enjoyed reading this little book and that it has given you a glimpse into the early life of my dearly remembered grandmother”.
